Pupil Premium - Our Vision

Our school’s vision is:

* To work hard to provide the best possible education for all by developing the individual talents and qualities of the children.

* To work collaboratively with parents, governors and stakeholders within the school community and to create a rich and stimulating environment for all.

* To support and encourage the children in becoming healthy, well rounded members of society.

* To create a supportive, caring and friendly atmosphere within the school to encourage everyone to be the best they can be.

With this in mind, the Pupil Premium Grant will be used to support disadvantaged pupils.   For these children, we aim to remove any barriers to learning, build confidence, foster resilience and maintain high aspirations so they can be the best they can be.

* We ensure that teaching and learning opportunities meet the needs of all of the pupils.

* We ensure that appropriate provision is made for pupils who belong to vulnerable groups, this includes ensuring that the needs of identified pupils are adequately assessed and addressed.

* Pupil Premium funding will be allocated to provide targeted support for classes, groups or individuals.

* We monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of how we utilise our Pupil Premium Grant expenditure to ensure it has a positive impact on achievement.

* We acknowledge the desire to eliminate the gap between PPG pupils and Non PPG pupils and strive to accelerate progress.

What is Pupil Premium and who is eligible?

The Pupil Premium is an allocation of additional funding provided to schools to support specific groups of children who are vulnerable to possible underachievement. These include pupils who are entitled to free school meals, those Looked After by the Local Authority, adopted children and those of Armed Services personnel. The intended effect of this funding is to accelerate progress, raise attainment and support the pupils in the participation of activities in the wider curriculum.

As a school we decide how the allocated Pupil Premium Grant should be spent. We assess each child and decide what additional provision should be made for these pupils. We are then required to report on the amount of funding received, how this is being allocated and the impact of any additional support or provision.

If you think your child may be eligible for Free School Meals, please do not hesitate to contact the school office and we will help you with your application (01635 40318).
