The Governing Board
We are very proud of our school and our Governing Board.
Our Vision Statement:
"The Governing Board supports the school, and its staff and parents, by working at a strategic level to ensure the continued improvement of the school and the outcomes for its pupils."
Our role is:
-
To bring a strategic view
-
To be a critical friend to the school
-
To ensure accountability
The Governing Board is made up of 9 Governors who are: the headteacher, one staff member, two elected parents, one local authority governor and 4 co-opted governors. Each Governor is appointed for a given term of office which can be renewed, more details can be seen on the “Our Governors” tab.
The full Governing Board meet regularly; two or three times each term. Other meetings gather further information and report to the full governing board, such as Finance Meetings which some governors also attend.
The children at Robert Sandilands are very happy and make good progress. We focus on ensuring that all children receive a well-rounded education and develop their self-confidence to become independent learners. Pupils are safe at school and their safeguarding is taken extremely seriously.
The atmosphere, ethos and engagement of children throughout the school is excellent. Behaviour is outstanding and relationships between pupils and staff are very strong. Pupils are proud of their work and are keen to talk about it.
We wholly endorse and support the school's vision statement and are “committed to developing the unique qualities of each child”.
